THE CANADIAN BOXING CHAMPIONS

THE CHAMPIONS (2001 to 2013): by Brian Zelley

The Introduction
As we look back and move forward, it is important to recall the
current national and international boxing champions of the
Canadian boxers now and in the recent past.

Recognized Canadian Champions of recent times:


NEVIN PAJKIC:
In the heavyweight division with a long line of champions such
as George Chuvalo, Toronto based boxer NEVIN PAJKIC defended
his Canadian title with a victory over BC's SHANE ANDREESEN.
Some other recent names over the last few years that were
involved in title fights were Grzegorz Kielsa and Ray Olubowale.


JUNIOR MOAR


In 2009, BC based boxer JUNIOR MOAR
won a decision over   Abdullah Ramadan                            at the River Rock casino in Richmond, BC
to earn the vacant Canadian light-heavyweight
title.  In March 2011  Moar earned a victory over      Michael Walchuk to retain the title in Richmond.

* From light-middleweight to super middleweight, Adam
is king of the mighty middleweights of Canada.

THE LIGHTWEIGHTS: IRWIN and GAUDET


Two of the outstanding lightweight champions in recent years
were BILLY IRWIN and BENOIT GAUDET.


THE FEATHERWEIGHTS to FLYWEIGHTS

In recent years, some of the names to highlight include
Jason Adams, Steve Molitor, Jason Haywood and Andrew Kooner.
